UW-Parkside's Foreign Film Festival is showing the movie "The King's Choice" on March 22-25. MiKe Palecek will introduce the film before each showing.
On Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25, Ola Hirth and Mike Palecek will be doing a "talk back" where they explain more about the film and background about Norway in World War II.
The movie documents wartime Norway and the leadership of King Haakon VII. The German war machine arrives in Oslo in April 1940. Norway's king is left with a difficult choice that will change his country forever. This film depicts what happened in the most defining days of the Norwegian democracy.
